Why
marriages made in heaven, are getting broken these days?
In every marriage and other auspicious occasions, we are using Akshadhai
(rice dipped in turmeric). Let us know the importance of Akshadhai.
As per the sastras, akshadhai
has to prepared according to a particular method. Now-a-days, we are using
Rice for making akshadhai. This is wrong. Actually, raw paddy grains are
to be soaked in clean water on the previous day. The next day, it has
to be removed of its outer skin using hand. All precautions are to be
taken to ensure that the rice is not broken. The full rice grains are
then to be soaked in pure Turmeric. This is how akshadhai is to be prepared.
In every stage, it should be ensured that the tip of the rice is not broken.
Now, no care is taken in
making this holy rice. Since, there is every chance that rice chosen for
preparing this rice today, is broken, the marriages are also getting broken.
The rice thus prepared
should be used for blessing only after the elders bless the couple, only
after which the bride can take the hand of the bridegroom.
But what is being done
now is, we have a grand reception prior to marriage day, in which the
bride takes bridegroom's hand. Which is wrong. This is against the Sastras.
If someone wants to host dinner for friends and relatives, it can be done
at a later date after marriage.
